The awards are an important part of Australia Day celebrations and aim to recognise the outstanding achievements of our residents during the past year and/or contributions to the local community over a number of years.
You can nominate anyone you think is deserving of local recognition for all of their hard work and community service, whether it’s a friend, family member, workmate or someone you have met while serving the community.
Nominations are being sought for the three awards that are to be presented at the Australia Day ceremony.
The awards include:
- Australia Day Citizen of the Year- to be eligible, the person must be 30 years or older on 26 January next year.
- Australia Day Young Citizen of the Year – to be eligible, the person must be 30 years or younger on 26 January next year.
- Community Event of the Year – presented to the person or group who has staged the most outstanding community event during the year.
If you know an outstanding Moorabool resident you would like to nominate for Australia Day for an award, simply pick up a form from Customer Service at either the Ballan Council Offices, Darley Council Offices or the Lerderderg Library.
