Will you be busy on Election Day?

Australian FlagIt’s not long until we all head to the polls and vote, and if you can’t make it to a polling booth on July 2 then you might need to vote early.

If you live in Bacchus Mash you’ll be in the electoral division on Ballarat. While there aren’t any early voting centres in Bacchus Marsh, you can vote early at centres located in Ballarat (The Atlantic), Melton (Melton Uniting Church Hall) and Wendouree (Autobarn).

Early voting is available tomorrow and during the week leading up to the official Election Day. Alternatively, you can apply for a postal vote.

Normal voting on Saturday July 2 will take place at the St Bernards Primary School on Patterson St in Bacchus Marsh. Voting will be open from 8am – 6pm.

This year’s Federal Election is sure to be a big one and every vote could have an influence on the final outcome. But, whether you’re interested in politics or not you need to remember that voting is compulsory in Australia so you need to make the effort to vote on July 2, unless you do an early or postal vote.

The full lists of voting locations in the Ballarat division, as well as further information about pre-polling or applying for a postal vote, are available at the Australian Electoral Commission website at aec.gov.au.
