The website – Farming Moorabool at www.farming-moorabool.com.au – has been put together to help link local residents with our local farmers.
A group of primary producers from across the Moorabool shire are behind the website, which has been created with the support of a community grant from the Bacchus Marsh Community Bank.
Mt Wallace farmer Scott Young said in The Moorabool News that the group aims to promote, educate and inform the wider community about agriculture, which he says is one of Moorabool’s most sustainable industries, and one of the most important to the region’s future
“The group aims, among other things, to offer unique and interactive ways for schools across the shire to better engage with their local food producers,” said Mr Young.
The website will offer a list of regional producers who sell direct, and feature stories on farming families throughout the shire.
If you want to help support our local farmers and learn more about what they do and why they’re so important to the community then you should definitely check the website out and try to shop local where you can.
