Clean Up Australia Day 2016 in Bacchus Marsh

volunteerBacchus Marsh residents, community groups, businesses, and schools are being encouraged to take part in this year’s Clean Up Australia Day.

By volunteering to roll up your sleeves and pick up litter for just a couple of hours, you will be joining thousands of others around the country in helping to protect our environment and keep it healthy for future generations.

Clean Up Australia Day is now in its 26th year and thanks to the efforts of all those involved in Clean Up Australia Day over the years, many thousands of tonnes of waste has been removed from our environment, allowing us all to live in communities that are safer, healthier and much more attractive.

The official Clean Up Australia Day event will be taking place on Sunday 6 March this year, and a local clean up site has been registered at the Avenue of Honour.

Bacchus Marsh schools and businesses can get involved in the spirit of the day, with a Business Clean Up Day planned for Tuesday 1 March, and a Schools Clean Up Day on Friday 4 March.

Getting involved is as simple as visiting the Clean Up Australia Day website – www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au – and registering your own clean up site or joining an existing site.

Joining in on this fantastic environmental event is a great way to ensure we keep our local region looking great!
