Australia Day is an opportunity for us all to take a short break from our daily lives and celebrate all of the things that we cherish about living in the lucky country – whether it’s the people, the lifestyle or our beautiful surroundings.
We’re sure that a lot of people in the Bacchus Marsh community will be holding backyard barbecues or spending the day by the pool, or some may be attending local community events.
The Moorabool Shire Council will be holding official Australia Day celebrations at the Mechanics Hall on Inglis Street in Ballan.
The official events will get underway at 8:00am and will include the following:
- Community BBQ Breakfast
- Musical Entertainment
- Town Crier
- Australia Day Ambassador
- Flag Raising Ceremony
- Citizen of the Year Award Presentation
- Young Citizen of the Year Award Presentation
- Community Event of the Year Award Presentation
- Mayor’s Award Presentations
- Australian Citizenship Ceremony
The Moorabool Australia Day festivities are expected to be a heap of fun, by no matter how you plan on spending Australia Day, we hope you have a great day and get the opportunity to celebrate all of the things that make you proud to call Australia (and Bacchus Marsh) home.
