Nominate your local hero for Australia Day Local Government Awards

Australian FlagDo you know someone in the Bacchus Marsh community who deserves recognition for all of their hard work and achievements? If you do, you’re encouraged to nominate them in the Australia Day Local Government Awards for 2016.

The awards help recognise the quiet achievers in our local region, and the people who help make up the backbone of our community such as volunteers, athletes, business owners or community leaders – anybody who you feel has made noteworthy contributions during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.

Nominations can be made in the following categories:

  • Australia Day Citizen Award. To be eligible, the person must be 30 years or older on January 26 next year and reside in Moorabool Shire.
  • Australia Day Young Citizen Award. To be eligible, the person must be under 30 years of age on January 26 next year and reside in Moorabool Shire.
  • Community Event of the Year. Award Presented to the person or group who has staged the most outstanding community event within Moorabool Shire during the year

Nominating is easy to do, simply head to www.moorabool.vic.gov.au where you can find a nomination form and details of how it can be submitted.

Nominations close Friday 20 November, so there’s still plenty of time to think about who you think should win.
