Have your say on the future of the Moorabool region

have your sayBacchus Marsh residents are being asked to have a say on four very important council documents.

The documents in question outline the strategies that the council plans to take for the region’s economic development, retail sector, agribusiness employment at Parwan Employment Precinct and industrial estates.

All four documents are currently on public exhibition and when finalised will inform the Council’s decision making and planning in these areas over the next 26 years and form a key part of Council’s Moorabool 2041 framework.

According to Mayor Paul Tatchell these are the most important documents that Council will have because by 2041, Moorabool will have a population of more than 51,000 people –double what it is today in some areas!

“To match this rapid population growth, we’re going to need more local jobs, population servicing industries, shops and investment opportunities,” Mayor Tatchell said.

“Forecasts for Moorabool Shire indicate that by 2031 an additional 4500 local jobs could be created if we can stimulate the right parts of the economy. That’s what these strategies are focused on.”

Strategy overviews can be read at www.haveyoursaymoorabool.com.au where you can also provide your feedback up until Friday 9 October.
