Tradies Health under the spotlight for August

tool-beltIn case you haven’t already heard, this month is Tradies National Health Month, a time when we’re all encouraged to raise awareness about the importance of keeping a check on the health and well being of our tradies.

Did you know that everyday ten tradies are badly injured at work, with nearly all roofers, plumbers and labourers experiencing back pain, muscle stress and strain from their trade? Mental health is also a significant issue with around 18% of injured workers having to seek mental health services after being off work for more than six months.

Being in the real estate industry, the team at Arbee Real Estate meet and work with tradies regularly because they play an extremely important role in creating and maintaining the homes that we all love.

We have a lot of respect for the hard work that tradies do and we think it’s important that tradies are educated on the best ways to look out for their health and well being in an industry that is extremely labour intensive.

The Australian Physiotherapy Association, mental health awareness group Beyond Blue and shoe manufacturers Steel Blue will all be showing their support for Tradies National Health Month, and everyone else can too by helping educate tradies one the tools needed to look after themselves and remain safe at work.
