National Volunteer Week will be taking place from Monday 11th to Sunday 17th May to help recognise those who give up their time voluntarily to help others.
Volunteers play an invaluable role in the Bacchus Marsh community and there are many local services and events that would not be possible without the hard work and time they put in.
The theme for this year’s National Volunteer Week is ‘Give Happy, Live Happy’ which helps represents the meaningful work that volunteers do, while also sending out the message to others about how good it can feel to volunteer.
Research shows that that those volunteers are happier as a result. Volunteering is a noble and rewarding way to give back to the community and anybody who has the opportunity to volunteer even for just a few hours each week should seriously consider doing so – you will not only be helping others but you will feel good about yourself too!
If you would like to find out more about National Volunteer Week and how you can get involved with volunteering then head over to www.volunteeringaustralia.org/national-volunteer-week-2015.
If you know of anyone who volunteers in Bacchus Marsh then try to find a way to express your gratitude during National Volunteer Week and to let them know how much their work means to both you and the greater community.
