Celebrating Heritage Week in Bacchus Marsh

Whats-On1Australian Heritage Week is a national celebration that will run in 2015 from Saturday 11 April until Sunday 19 April.

The weeklong event celebrates our country’s unique heritage and allows local communities to join together and celebrate the people and places of special historic significance.

The Bacchus Marsh community is being encouraged to take part in Australian Heritage Week by hosting activities and events that showcase our local heritage.

Our local heritage is all about the places and stories that make our area special. It includes our beautiful natural places, our rich Indigenous heritage and historic sites that show where we came from.

The Bacchus Marsh area has a lot of heritage and historic landmarks that we should be proud of and that are worth celebrating during Australian Heritage Week.

Our heritage contributes to our sense of place and to our community and personal wellbeing, it informs us about where we have come from and who we are, and is fundamental to our national identity.

If you know of a local place or story in the Bacchus Marsh area that deserves to be celebrated then you can create an event at http://heritage-week.govspace.gov.au/.
