ANZAC Day services Ballan and Bacchus Marsh

Australian FlagIt was great to see so many people at the Bacchus Marsh ANZAC March last Sunday and we expect that many locals will also be taking the time tomorrow to pay respect to all of those who have served for our country in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations for the past 100 years.

If you would like to head out to a service and pay your respects tomorrow, there will be a dawn service beginning at 5.45am at the Soldiers Memorial Hall in Bacchus Marsh. Breakfast will be available following the Dawn Service at 6.15am (a Gold Coin Donation is kindly requested). Breakfast will be served afterwards in the Shire Hall.

There will also be an ANZAC march and service in Ballan tomorrow. The march will commence at 12.30pm at the Ballan RSL at 146 Inglis Street, Ballan to the Cenotaph in Inglis Street and will move up Inglis Street to the Mechanics Institute for the service.

To facilitate the event, a temporary closure of Inglis Street, between Stead and Cowie Streets, will be in place from 12.15pm to 2.30pm so motorists planning to travel through the area should keep this in mind.

Everyone is encouraged to head out to an ANZAC service, march or event tomorrow and reflect on the many sacrifices that our servicemen and women have made for us over the last 100 years – lest we forget.
