Easter time is full of lots of different traditions and one of our favourites is the Good Friday Appeal, which is held annually throughout Victoria to help raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Volunteers from all around Bacchus Marsh hit the streets on Good Friday every year and go doorknocking from house to house to collect donations.
In past years the Bacchus Marsh Lions Club and the Bacchus Marsh CFA have been strong local contributors to the cause and we hope to see many others out and about this year. If you want to find out how you can volunteer then visit www.goodfridayappeal.com.au.
There will also be a family fun day out at the Bacchus Marsh Bowls Club on Lord Street that will be raising money for the appeal.
The event will include an Easter egg hunt, children’s activities, jumping castle, social bowls, BBQ lunch and much more! It will run from 11am – 3pm and tickets are $5 each, which includes a BBQ and most kid’s activities.
Everybody is encouraged to head along and join the fun while raising money for the appeal.
If you can’t make it to the fundraising event though, or if you won’t be able to go doorknocking, then you can donate directly to the Good Friday Appeal at www.goodfridayappeal.com.au/donate.
Will you be volunteering or donating to the Good Friday Appeal this year?
