St Bernard’s Primary School to celebrate 125 years

Kids PlayingAre you a past student of St Bernard’s Primary School? If so, do you have any old photos or memorabilia from the school?

This year, St Bernard’s celebrates its 125 birthday at its Gisborne Road site and it’s asking all past and present students, parents and teachers if they have any old school memorabilia to share.

The primary school is actually older than its 125 years however. The school first opened in 1863 at Fisken Street and relocated to Gisborne Street in 1890.

The school has had an interesting past and was originally named as Bacchus Marsh Common School No. 97.

No doubt there are many in the Bacchus Marsh area that have fond memories of the school, which has produced many successful students. We even hear that current My Kitchen Rules contestant was a former pupil of the school, with his mum Rose being a current staff member.

The school will be celebrating its 125 anniversary on August 7, 2015. If you have any old photos, uniforms, school reports or any other memorabilia you would like to share then phone 5367 2379.
