spring cleanIf you want to help keep Bacchus Marsh clean and green then you’re encouraged to take part in this year’s Clean Up Australia Day.

By volunteering to roll up your sleeves and pick up litter for just a couple of hours, you will be joining thousands of others around Australia in helping to protect our environment and keep it healthy for future generations.

This year is a special occasion for Clean Up Australia Day as it marks its 25th anniversary. Thanks to the efforts of involved in Clean Up Australia Day over the years, many thousands of waste has been removed from our environment, allowing us all to live in communities that are safe and healthy.

Clean Up Australia Day will be taking place on Sunday, 1 March this year and there are a number of clean up sites that have already been registered throughout the region for locals to volunteer at.

Getting involved is as simple as visiting the Clean Up Australia Day website and registering your own clean up site or joining one of the existing sites.

You can find local clean up sites and further information about Clean Up Australia Day 2015 by visiting www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au

Bacchus Marsh schools and businesses can also get involved in the spirit of the day, with a Business Clean Up Day planned for Tuesday the 24th of February, and a Schools Clean Up Day on Friday the 27th of February.

Joining in any of the three events is a great way to ensure we keep our local region looking great.
