The festival is a popular yearly event in Blackwood and is a great way to witness all of the beautiful flowers of spring in the one place.
There will be plenty of botanical treasures to see at the festival as well as free workshops to take part in and garden tours by expert gardeners. There will also be some yummy food to try from the St Erth café.
The free workshops will be on: Spring Soil Preparation; Our Favourite Heirloom Veggie Varieties for Spring; and Composting & Green Manures.
Other features of the festival will include tastings of locally produced biodynamic ciders and wines from Bress (the James Halliday ‘5 Red Star’ rated winery), and demonstrations by the Central Highlands Goat Club including goat milking and kefir cheese & ice-cream making.
The event will be held tomorrow and Sunday (October 11 and 12) from 9am until 5pm and entry will be $10 or free if you’re a Diggers Club member or under 16 years old.
