What do you think of Bacchus Marsh’s new bus services? Do you prefer the new bus route or the old one?
It seems that a lot of local residents prefer the old bus route and have signed a petition to try and get it reinstated.
According to a report in Melton & Moorabool Star Weekly, 72-year-old Darley resident Audrey Pearson has put the petition together, stating that the new Route 435 is an inconvenience to older residents.
Mr Pearson and others believe that the new route, which has changed and removed some bus stops, has made it harder for older residents to get to bus stops and thus is limiting their access to public transport.
The petition suggests that Route 435 go back to the previous route for one leg of the journey and follow the new route in the other direction, ensuring more residents could use the service.
The Moorabool Council has received the petition and will liaise with Public Transport Victoria and Bacchus Marsh Coaches about the viability of incorporating the Bacchus Marsh Golf Club and the Darley activity centre/recreation precinct into Route 435.
I would love to hear what local commuters think about the new bus services? Are you happy with it?
