Funding program for new events in Bacchus Marsh

ABacchus Marsh could be seeing more events in the region next year with the Moorabool Shire Council offering a new grants program.

The program will offer new and promising events a three-year funding commitment from the council.

A share of $19,900 is available, after being redirected from funding that was previously committed to the Feast of March marketing budget. A share of $17,500 is still available for existing major events however.

The aim of the new grants program is to help support new events and give them a chance to get established. The three years of funding gives events time to get a foothold and gain community support, as a lot of the time new events suffer simply because they aren’t given a chance and people don’t have the time to hear about them before they are eventually cancelled.

So hopefully the new grants program will help bring new and lasting events to the community.

Applications for the grants program are open until September 30 and to find out more you can head to the Moorabool Shire Council website.
