For those who still haven’t heard about the Relay for Life, it is an overnight community event where teams of people take it in turns to walk in a 24-hour relay. While the relay can be hard work for those who want to walk or run repeated laps (you only have to do one if you want) the event isn’t about being athletic, it’s about sharing an experience with your friends and family and joining in the fight against cancer.
Many teams have already started fundraising but you can still start your own team, join an existing one or donate to do your part.
Foodworks Bacchus Marsh has gotten a team together and they will be raising funds for the event at a fundraiser to be held at the Bacchus Marsh Parish Centre on Friday, August 8.
If you want to head along to the fundraiser, you can find out more at www.facebook.com/Relayforlifefoodworks.
Cancer touches too many lives, so this cause is an extremely important one and we’d love to encourage as many people from the Bacchus Marsh community as possible to participate or contribute to this cause in any way they can.
The Moorabool Relay For Life will be held on Saturday, September 20, and Sunday, September 21, at Maddingley Park Bacchus Marsh.
