Did you pick up the common link?  They’re all outdoor activities!  That’s right, they’re all great fun for kids under 12, and none of them involve video games, televisions or iPods.  While a few of these may be better suited to a summer climate, many of these are achievable in autumn… And these aren’t even half of the ideas on the UK National Trust’s list!  For the full list of 50 activities please visit

If you don’t think your children would like these activities, feel free to come up with some of your own.  It can be anything from climbing a tree to chasing butterflies, keep it simple and let your children’s natural curiosity guide them.  Here in Bacchus Marsh we’re incredibly lucky to have fantastic outdoor spaces – So turn off the telly and send your kids out for some fun and adventure.

Think back to when you were young… what was it that gave you joy?
