Who are Bacchus Marsh’s Local Community Achievers?

The Moorabool Shire Council is currently seeking nominations for the 2013 Australia Day Awards.

The awards are held every year on Australia Day to help recognise individuals, groups and organisations in the Moorabool region for their achievements and contributions in sports, cultural pursuits, the arts, community services, education and other services.

The Australia Day Awards are a real opportunity for the local community to thank the high achievers in our area for helping to make this part of the world such a great place for us all to live in.

We probably all know somebody who deserves recognition for their achievements, and we don’t envy the judges role of picking just one Citizen of the Year! There are however also awards for Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year.

If you would like to nominate a person or a group you can download an Australia Day Awards nomination form from the Moorabool Shire Council website.

Moorabool residents have until close of business on Friday, November 23 to send their forms in, so there’s plenty of time to think about who you think is worthy of a nomination.

Good luck to everyone nominated for next year’s Australia Day Awards and we’re looking forward to hearing who our next Citizen of the Year is!
