After weeks of preparation and planning for your move, everything can feel a little overwhelming when the big day finally arrives. But take a deep breathe because all of that moving stress will be over soon.
Make sure you get a good night’s rest the night before your move and set your alarm early. The more time you give yourself the better.
The first thing to do on moving day, while you are waiting for the movers to arrive, is to pack up any loose items left in the house and have absolutely everything ready to go out the door.
When the movers arrive point out any fragile or awkward items so that these can be dealt with appropriately.
If there is anything in your house that you don’t want the movers to take, keep this well marked and keep it well away.
Before the movers leave, go through and give every room in the house a thorough check to make sure no stray items have been left behind.
Once everything is out of the house it’s time to start cleaning.
When it’s time to leave, lock up and say goodbye to your house one last time.
If you have a landlord or meet the new owners of your house, it’s a good idea to make sure you leave your new address and contact information with them so they can pass on any mail.
Once you have successfully moved out of your old house, it’s time to start your new life in your new home. Good luck and happy moving!
