You can now find out if your Bacchus Marsh home will be one of the next homes in Australia to have access to the National Broadband Network (NBN).
NBN Co have released fibre optic cable maps that show the areas where more than 2500 homes in Bacchus Marsh will be connected to the new high speed internet service.
The maps and information are available at nbnco.com.au/our-network/maps/vic.html where you can see that the fibre network coverage area is bounded by parts of the Western Freeway and Main Street along Bacchus Marsh Road.
As mentioned previously in my blog, Bacchus Marsh’s inclusion in the next phase of the NBN rollout is great news for our region as it will mean that we will have much faster internet speeds available to us, which is becoming increasingly important in the modern world, for both business and personal use.
It will be about another 12 months before construction is completed and the NBN service is available, but this is still much earlier than other Australian communities will have access to the NBN network, with the entire project expected to take about 10 years.
