Bacchus Marsh school students and their parents were encouraged to make walking to school a habit as of today.
That’s because today is “Walk Safely to School Day”, which is a national event aimed at promoting the health benefits of simply walking to school.
By walking to school everyday, primary school and high school students will be getting more exercise in the day which helps promote fitness and health. If more students walk to school it also helps make the roads safer and less congested, as there would be less cars on the roads during peak hours.
So hopefully lots of students and parents take the message of Walk Safely to School Day seriously and start making a regular habit of walking to school!
