Bacchus Marsh Fire Brigade Celebrates 100 Years!

In today’s blog I wanted to say a big congratulations to the local Bacchus Marsh Fire Brigade, who have just celebrated 100 years of serving the Bacchus Marsh community!

The Bacchus Marsh Fire Brigade was formed all the way back in 1911 and since they started they have done so much to help our local community.

So to help the community celebrate, over the weekend there was a parade featuring 30 brigades and vintage fire vehicles; a display at the Bacchus Marsh Fire Station; and a “Back to Bacchus” reunion where past and present members of the fire brigade had a chance to catch up.

During the Bacchus Marsh Fire Brigade festivities a time capsule with 100 items from the last 100 years was buried and it will be reopened again at the fire brigade’s 150th anniversary in 2061.

I hope that the Bacchus Marsh Fire Brigade had a great weekend of celebrations, and to those in the Bacchus Marsh community who want to learn more about the Brigade, you can buy a history book that was released as part of the celebrations. The book costs $20 and is available by emailing centenary@bmfb.org.au.
