Bacchus Marsh Harvest Festival 2011

It’s been 12 months since the last Bacchus Marsh Harvest Festival and everybody in town seems to be extremely excited for the event’s fourth year!
If you’re a winer and/or diner with a passion for great food, award winning wines and live music – then you don’t want to miss bringing your family along to enjoy another day of fun and entertainment.
The various activities planned throughout the day are much the same as last year. There will be the famous barefoot grape stomping event as well as gumboot throwing, a jumping castle, ice cream tasting, music and lots more.
If you missed out last year then don’t miss it again, there will even be the chance to meet local growers and visit the apple, strawberry and pig farms!
It’s only a month away, so make sure you start preparing your kids for the best dressed scarecrow competition and put March 27th in your diaries so you don’t miss out (there have been claims that the date is March 13th, however I have confirmed with the event organiser Allan Comrie that it is definitely the last Sunday of March being March 27th).
If you’d like to have a glass of wine or two and leave the car at home, there’s a bus service departing from outside Maddingley Park Gates on Station Street at 10:15am, which is free for the first 50 passengers!
Let us all rein in the start of autumn with good food, good wine, good music and most of all, good company.
I look forward to seeing you all there, and if you have photos of the day you’d like to share please don’t hesitate to email them through to me!
