Trying to find the perfect home can be an overwhelming experience. There are so many different types of properties on the Bacchus Marsh real estate market and sometimes it’s hard to know which property will be better suited to you.
I find that it helps though to put together two lists – one for the essentials and one for the desirables.
On the essentials list is where you write down everything that a property absolutely must have in order for you to consider it. For example do you need to be near public transport? Do you need a certain number of bedrooms?
Once you have figured out your essentials list than start looking for properties based on your criteria.
The second list is the desirables list. As the name suggests, this is a list for all of those things that you would ideally like to have in your home, but you are willing to do without. For example you might like an ensuite but don’t consider it a deal breaker, or you might be prepared to install one for yourself.
Use the desirables list to help compare properties when you’ve narrowed them down to a shortlist.
Bring both of your checklists with you to home inspections, to help you make sure that your new property has everything in it that you’re looking for!
