In light of the events all over the country with bushfires and flooding, I thought today’s blog should try to give some ideas and assistance to people who are having to start over. To do this, it’s important to go back to the basics of real estate.
Bacchus Marsh thankfully is not in danger of a natural disaster to the magnitude of the floods we’re seeing in Queensland and New South Wales, however that’s not to say that people moving here aren’t people who have been affected directly by these events.
The best and most practical way of starting over is to seek a real estate agent’s advice. By chatting to a local agent (or reading my blog), you can get a real sense of the local area and economy, and assess whether it is a suitable place to re-settle.
The next thing to do is talk to your financial advisor to see what you’re able to afford. From a basic kit home to something fully established, there is likely to be a suitable option for you. If you’re getting back on your feet, you will be wanting to focus on the necessities like bedrooms and bathrooms for your family rather than worrying about the luxuries of life, so buying or renting something more modest may help you financially in other areas of your life.
Whatever your circumstances, remembering to start with the basics is important. Educate yourself and make sure you have all of the relevant information before jumping in boots and all. Our hearts go out to everyone who has had to and will need to start over and I hope in some way my blog has been able to help.
