Bacchus Marsh Residents Want a Public Park for the Town Centre

When Bacchus Marsh residents were asked what they would like in the town centre – the overwhelming response was a public park or garden.

Residents were asked this question as part of a survey to establish what the town’s civic precinct on Main Street should look like in the future.

Survey respondents had the option of choosing between a park or garden, a performing arts centre or community meeting rooms. Fifty-one percent of responses chose the park or garden option.

Last year the Council rejected an offer to build a shopping centre at the civic precinct, because they want the area to remain a community cultural hub for Bacchus Marsh. Currently on the site is of course a public hall, council offices and the Bacchus Marsh library.

The results of the survey will however be considered for future use of the land.

Do you agree with the survey results? Would you like to see a public park or garden on Main Street Bacchus Marsh?
