The Bacchus Marsh Aquatic Centre still has a chance of being developed, however it needs community support.
As mentioned last week the proposed Bacchus Marsh Aquatic Centre may not be going ahead due to the costs involved in getting it made (it is estimated to cost around $11 million to build).
However many residents still want the aquatic centre for the town, especially considering that Bacchus Marsh is one of the few communities of our size to not already have one.
There will be a public meeting this Thursday for community members to attend and discuss different aspects of the proposed aquatic centre, including the costs and alternative planning options.
The public meeting for the Bacchus Marsh Aquatic Centre will be held in the Moorabool Council Supper Room this Thursday at 7pm.
