Protection of Heritage in Bacchus Marsh

With such a rich heritage background, Bacchus Marsh continues to protect its evidence of history. This long history includes the preservation of buildings, landscapes and trees.

As we continue to grow as a community we need to appropriately manage the link to our past.
The Bacchus Marsh Heritage Study (BMHS) was undertaken in 1995 and was a joint initiative of the former Shire of Bacchus Marsh and Heritage Victoria. Since 1995 the BMHS has been used as a reference for understanding the history of our community.

BMHS has recently recognised a further 185 places for inclusion to be heritage protected. Council is now pursuing a planning scheme to incorporate these recommendations.

Submissions regarding the contents of the amendment are currently being sought from any member of the community. To find out if you have been affected or to find out how to view the submissions please visit their website.
