Bacchus Marsh is set to get even better with plans for a major makeover of our town’s Main Street! The Federal Government has put $128,000 towards the project that is sure to make a big improvement to our town centre.
I’ve always enjoyed walking along Main Street especially since I work along there at the Professionals Bacchus Marsh Real Estate office, but with the last upgrade being about 20 years ago I’d say that we are about due for another one.
Some of the new features of Main Street will include new concreting, kerb ramps, tactile ground service as well as street furniture, signs and seating. The new features will be particularly useful for the elderly or for persons with reduced mobility as it should provide better accessibility for the centre of Bacchus Marsh.
I can’t wait for the upgrade to be completed (which should be by the end of this year) and in the mean time I hope that the construction works aren’t too distracting for us and everyone else who works along Main Street.
