Bacchus Marsh 2010 Harvest Festival

It’s that time of year again – time for the annual Bacchus Marsh Harvest Festival which is coming up this Sunday, bringing with it the best local wine and produce our little community has got to offer!

This will be the third Harvest Festival that the Bacchus Marsh Tourism Association has hosted and it is expected to be even better than the last two and I know myself and everyone at the Bacchus Marsh Real Estate office are counting down for this year’s event.

There festival is going to have a free jumping castle for the kids so you don’t have to worry about entertaining them all day, or if you’re coming with your friends you can have some fun with the food and wine tasting that will be put on. You can also come along just to relax and listen to the live jazz music or go and pick some strawberries… no matter the reason, there’s something for every one to enjoy!

There are tours that anyone can participate in, the main being “Meet the Grower” where you can visit pig, pear, strawberry, lettuce, and apple farms. Or if this isn’t your flavour maybe you’d like to visit the winery or enjoy the country crafts? And for a little bit of fun there are also competitions such as the best apple pie, best grape stomp, best gumboot throw, and scarecrow fun.

Here in Bacchus Marsh we’re known for our good quality produce and great crops, which is why we’re such a popular destination for people to get away and experience a slice of Australian country life and now coming into autumn, this long weekend in March should be the perfect time to come.

The Harvest Festival will run from 10am to 3pm and I encourage every one to try and get along… all it costs is a gold coin donation so just look out for the Harvest Festival flags and signs on the day!
